FORT LAUDERDALE INTERNATIONAL BOAT SHOW 2013. New 107 Cruiser – MY Moni , the Vicem Flagship Vintage model of the yard

Vicem Yachts, Turkish builders of luxury classic motor yachts and mega-yachts, has launched the Cold Molded Epoxy System motoryacht 107’ Cruiser (MY Moni). “Vicem 107 Classic Cruiser is the new flagship of semi-displacement Cruiser line. Designed for long distance cruising, gifted with extremely generous internal volumes and xternal entertainment areas, the 107 remains faithful to the signature Cruiser line design. On the inside though, it breaks away from the traditional Vicem mahogany interiors. The boat will head into the 2013 East Coast shows season with a US debut at FLIBS 2013.

The new 107 Cruiser epitomizes the three hallmarks of every Vicem yacht: exuding a classic look of timeless design, exemplifying the Vicem ideals for unmatched craftsmanship with a commitment to total customization, and the cold-molded method of construction. But this timeless classic design 32,50m Vicem has undergone a sophisticated makeover with a number of new refinements, thanks to Vicem’s in-house design team.

Turan Ozbakir Vicem Yacht European Sales Director refers: “the Vintage Cruiser 107 will be an outstanding boat to entertain family and friends, with interior and exterior spaces worthy of a 115footer, including an amazingly large midship, full-beam master cabin, and two extremely spacious VIPs. The giant 70 square meters flybridge is worthy of a +40 metres superyacht. Given all of these attributes, including a very comfortable crew area, as well as Rina Certification, Y Pleasure Class, it will also have great charter appeal. Those on board will enjoy the utmost luxury with a quiet and smooth ride afforded only by a cold molded mahogany hull which promise only to enhance the overall exceptional experience”. Caviglia again “Her European owner wanted a fresh, modern but warm interior, and since one of our core Vicem values is the ability to fully customize the interiors, we were able to fully meet his desires. The result is simply spectacular – our master craftsmen have interpreted “modern” by blending woods, leathers, fabrics and stones into welcoming and harmonious interiors with a fit and finish worthy of the Vicem tradition”.

“The Vicem 107 Cruiser is an ideal yacht for an owner with a large family or a heck of a lot of friends – says Gary Smith, Vicem Yachts Sales Director. “A yacht of this size can accommodate 3 couples with full VIP accommodations and an additional 4 guests in two separate staterooms (total of 10 guests), providing the discerning yachtsmen an experience that cannot be duplicated on a fiberglass vessel. With a draft of only 6’4” (1.90m), its cruising ability in the Caribbean, as well as in the Mediterranean, will provide an experience only our Flagship Vintage model can bestow on those aboard. We are very proud. It is a true testament to Vicem’s capabilities.”

Image

A mighty and powerful looking yacht with a “double crème shade” of unrivaled prestige like its “older sister”, the 78 Cruiser – one of the 2010 Vicem successes. The Yard’s strengths are again utilized in this boat: it’s the highly specialized workforce, its obsession with wood and stainless steel craftsmanship that comes close to perfection, the engineering resources necessary for the development of its V type hard chine semi-displacement hull.

And last but not least this superyacht maintains the Yard’s DNA in custom or semi-custom production with a quality to price ratio that can be found only in Turkey.

Image

The introduced version comes with 5 cabins for 10 guests, an “over sized” U-shape Gaggenau kitchen, king size bed in the full-beam master cabin and in the Vip cabin. Two further guest cabins propose a queen-size and a twin-bed double solution. The crew area is another sign of distinctiveness: 3 cabins (2 singles and one  double+pullman) with private toilets, double access and laundry and private area (total of 5 crew on board).

The Vicem 107 contemporary twists are complemented by an updated exterior, and shows all its cruising character: a very high bow with a large and low cockpit to face rough seas for a pleasant and comfortable cruise in any weather. All on-board detail has been handcrafted to the highest standard and expertise: mahogany toe-rail and chromed brass or stainless steel hardware are just an example.

Power arrangements are 2 x CAT C32 1,550HP Marine diesel engines, which allow the 107 Cruiser semi-displacement hull to reach cruising and maximum speeds of 17 and 21 knots, respectively. The fuel tanks have a capacity of 3,831 gal. 14,500 lt. while the water and holding tanks are 512 gal. – 1,940 lt. and 1,025 gal. – 3,800 lt., respectively and a deadrise angle on transom is 17 degree. The engine room of the Cruiser 107 is built in keeping with the tradition of Vicem of designing and executing engine rooms that are extremely well organized, well appointed and well finished so as to maximize functionality, accessibility and reliability. This tradition is a result of Vicem’s 20 years experience in the American market, where engine rooms are more often scrutinized by owners and captains to confirm the build quality of the rest of the boat. Regarding the engines themselves, Vicem chose in this particular case robust twin Caterpillar C32 in order to provide to the Owner endless hours of reliable cruising with easy maintenance requirements.

The cold molded method The building technique used to create the new 107 is the same used for all Vicem Vintage Line (classic/flybridge 52’ to 75’ – cruiser 78, 92, 107): the cold molded process. A millenary, unique construction technique which embodies all the construction methods of the Turkish historical marine tradition; a modern procedure different from traditional boat building. Based on engineered wood construction, cold-molding uses laminated mahogany (coming from managed forests) and a specific formulated epoxy resin to create the hull, decks and principal superstructures. This results in a stronger and quieter vessel with a smoother ride, with natural insulation from humidity and noise.

Vicem Yachts launch Vulcan 35 Trideck

Vicem Yachts adds an important step to its strategic business expansion with the launch of the VULCAN 35m/118’ Trideck. Since 2012 Vicem has been enlarging its horizons beyond mahogany construction into high-tech composite construction with the delivery and the launch of two new sleek, fast yachts for its Vulcan Line: VULCAN 46m and VULCAN 32m/105’.

Vulcan 35m – Trideck comes from the Vicem Vulcan series. World class, fast and light the Vulcan Series yachts add long range capabilities for ocean voyages together with an outstanding and durable low maintenance exterior. The Vicem 35m is a fantastic design and is just as fast and beautiful like his older sister, the Vulcan 46m. The yacht design is again a build featuring the best materials and absolutely no compromises.

VULCAN 35 M TRIDECK
When designing the 35m Trideck, Vicem wanted to incorporate spaces and volumes found in much larger tri-deck motor yachts.  A Frank Mulder design, this Tri-deck provides excellent quality of life on board for up to 12 guests and is certified for RINA Short Range Charter Class (RINA C ✠Hull ● MACH Ych Charter Short Range, EFP (Rina No:88038) Turkish). The generous exterior spaces on the three decks are complemented by a beach-pad that drops-down from the stern garage, allowing guests to fully enjoy their rest and relaxation by the sea. With a top speed of 20 knots and a range of 1,600 Nm @ 12 knots and 950@ 16 knots (cruising speed) this Vicem creation is a very versatile player for the super yacht segment. In addition, Art Line design has been the choice for the interiors – repeating the great successful collaboration as on the Vulcan 46 metres. Vulcan 35m trideck is a five stateroom yacht (6 cabins layout is also available), including a full-beam master suite and two full-beam VIP staterooms. There is a captain’s cabin on the main deck and two double crew cabins with a lounge and galley in the crew area. Tenders are hidden in the foredeck (to achieve a sleek exterior look) and there is additional garage storage at the transom.

ART-LINE INTERIORSDesigners Frank Pieterse and Marilyn de Vaal – refers: “We enjoyed designing this yacht very much. This yacht reflects the essence of yachting; a great climate, the warm sea, gentle reflections from the water through the windows and specially designed open outdoor spaces to give a sense of relaxation and welcoming. In order to create 4 suites, 1 VIP stateroom and two identical owners suites, we established an organic flow between the levels of the indoor and outdoor living spaces, thus generating a sense of space that belies the size of the yacht. In the rest of the public spaces we created a very light, dramatic look, with a repeating signature running through the interior bringing the interior and exterior interaction into a continuous focus With details of the interior that were inspired by the woodworking and wooden boatbuilding heritage of Vicem Yachts, integrated with the contemporary art and architecture we are committed to, we  aspired to generate a sense of holiday fun with a hint of formality, beautifully crafted with the finest material. This yacht is a real family yacht, designed for the whole family to celebrate their holiday”. www.artline-design.com

THE VULCAN SERIES FROM VICEM
With world class, fast and light yachts for charter or private use, the Vulcan Series adds long range capabilities for ocean voyages together with an outstanding and durable low maintenance exterior. Due to the latest design and construction techniques, interior volume has been increased when compared to many other yachts in the same size range. Interiors are tailored to client requests and can be fully integrated with exterior colors, styling and finishes due to Vicem’s “total customization” attitude and superior construction techniques which allow finishing in dark colors and/or metallic painting. The Vulcan Line yachts are built in a state-of-the-art facility in Antalya, Turkey. Composite materials, applied with resin and sandwich techniques, are chosen to achieve the best possible strength-to-weight ratios.

All Vicem plants are clean, pleasant factories without unhealthy vapors that exist in other yacht building factories that use cheaper polyester resins that are loaded with unhealthy styrene. Even the Vicem Classic and Cruiser lines utilize the more expensive and sophisticated epoxy resins in construction. Integral tank construction was also introduced with the new Vulcan series, which provides more internal room for accommodations and the ability to carry more fuel for oceangoing trips at lower speeds. Frank Mulder designed fast hulls for the Vicem Vulcan series with a fine entry for rough sea conditions yet still very fuel efficient at slow displacement speeds.

Vicem 46 metres Caprice V is on water

The impressive Vicem Vulcan 46 metres M/Y Caprice V is now on the later. This is has been the most challenging project for the world famous Turkish yard arriving to megayacht production for the first time since 2010. Vicem is enlarging its horizons beyond mahogany construction into high-tech composite construction with three new sleek, fast yachts, which includes the 46m/151’ , 35m/118’ and 32m/105’ for its Vulcan Line. V46 metres Caprice V was launched in July 2012 and V32 metres Bronko I was launched in November 2012. V35 metres will be launched soon during the first half of 2013.

In order to continue with speeds in the 20 plus knots range, Vicem decided on Cored Fiberglass construction for this series. The first step was joining forces with Dutch naval architect/designer Frank Mulder who has designed many well known, fast mega-yachts worldwide. To utilize the state of the art in fiberglass yacht construction, Mulder specified Core-Cell and Epoxy resin for the entire structure. Core-Cell has is the best choice of any core material for “off gassing” as it ensures a finished hull and superstructure that can be painted in any color. The hull and superstructure are also post-cured with large heat blankets after lamination which results in a fair and smooth appearance with any color.

“We want a reputation as a builder of light, beautiful and fast hulls” says Sebahattin Hafizoglu, Vicem Yachts Founder – Chairman of the Board of Directors. “Vicem is entering the super-yacht segment with serious ambitions and with no compromise/highest quality building materials and technologies that compare favorably to Northern Europe Shipyards.” The 46-metre super-yacht has involved Dutch naval architect Frank Mulder and noted interior design firm Art-Line Interiors. “On a boat this size, with such high expectations of performance, the choice of the ‘right’ naval architect was an important one. No one has the renowned expertise of Frank Mulder,” says Hafizoglu. Vicem is so pleased with Mulder’s work that we are also building a 32-metre and a 35-metre to his designs.”

VULCAN 46 metres M/YCAPRICE V
With this 46 meter yacht, Vicem decided to enter into the composite mega-yacht segment without making compromises.  With the assistance of outstanding design firms such as Frank Mulder for exterior and naval architecture, and Art Line for the interiors, Vicem set out to build a 46 meter semi-displacement yacht which is lighter and faster than the industry standard, achieving 25 knots as top speed, while maintaining high-efficiency cruising and long range capability of 4,000 Nm @ 12 knots, thus creating an extremely versatile ship. Art-Line Studio designed the Vulcan 46m interior, bringing a new definition to the word luxury. A 460-ton yacht, powered by twin 3,650 HP MTU engines, delivers efficient ocean-crossing range at reduced speed. Her three decks plus Sun-deck design provides outstanding elegance for the knowledgeable owner, and six cabins of thrilled guests. Her signature open atrium design provides 45 feet of unbroken natural lighting, from the very top of the Sun-deck all the way down to the Lower Deck. The main deck’s Master Suite uses every inch of this yachts’ 30 foot beam, and includes a CEO’s office and a private gym. A graceful wraparound entry way leads to an inviting Jacuzzi and an arcing full-width head. Farther aft is the galley, a dining area for ten, and a relaxing lounge and a spacious upper lounge area. Its impeccable construction and craftsmanship, thanks to Vicem’s internal team of 400 specialized craftsmen and the RINA/MCA Long Range classifications, make this mega yacht a very serious contender in today’s mega-yacht arena.
